Hounds' Offensive Line Named to D3football.com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College's offensive line of junior left tackle Bradley Straight, freshman left guard Shane Fisher, senior center Max Neis, senior right guard Daniel Smith and freshman right tackle Joseph Pellegrino has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware for their performance in the Greyhounds' 31-3 win over Ursinus College on October 3.

"It's great for the guys to be recognized for all of their hard work," stated Offensive Line Coach Chris Leavenworth. "They put in countless hours both grinding it out at practice and in the film room. Max, Dan, and Brad have done a great job of integrating the young guys and they all continue to get better each week. We still have a lot of work left to do and this honor will only help to motivate them through the rest of the season."

The line helped the Greyhounds rush for 301 yards on 67 carries, their Hounds first 300-yard game in nearly two years, and they helped Moravian to 408 yards of total offense on 87 plays. The group opened holes for junior running back Chris Negron to run for his second straight 150-yard plus performance as Negron picked up 154 yards and two touchdowns on a career-best 42 carries.

Straight, Fisher, Neis, Smith and Pellegrino also allowed junior quarterback Mike Hayes to rush for a career-high 134 yards on 16 attempts and complete 9-of-20 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns. The line played its second straight game together after the Hounds had used a different set of starters through the first four weeks due to injury. In those two games, Straight, Fisher, Neis, Smith and Pellegrino have allowed just one sack and none in the victory versus Ursinus last Saturday.

Moravian has its bye week this Saturday, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 17 in a Centennial Conference game at Susquehanna University with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. in Selinsgrove.
