ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Moravian College senior Evan Dickinson has been named the Empire 8 Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance last week.
Dickinson finished second of the 62 golfers in the field at the Messiah College Falcon Classic last Monday with a one-under par round of 70, the first under-par round by a Moravian golfer since Dickinson fired a 69 in a tri-match with DeSales University and Cabrini College on April 23, 2013. Dickinson's round in the Falcon Classic included five birdies and 10 pars on a course he is familiar with growing up in Carlisle.
"Evan got off to a rough start to begin the fall season so it was really nice to see him bounce back with such a good round at Messiah," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "I knew he was hitting the ball well enough to score, it was just a matter of him getting some confidence back."
Dickinson's round of 70 helped to lead the team to shoot 295, which is the first time the team has been under 300 since 2008. The Hounds went on to win the tournament beating second place rival Muhlenberg by 12 strokes.
Moravian will return to action on Monday, October 12 at the Muhlenberg College Fall Invitational at the Lehigh Country Club.
