Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian College so that I could obtain a balance between academics and sports. My school gives me the opportunity to succeed in the classroom, and at the same time gives me the opportunity to succeed on the golf course. I knew that by choosing Moravian College, I would be able to become the well-rounded individual that I strive to be.

What is your major and why?
I chose to be an accounting major mainly because I think that it gives me the most opportunities in the business world today.

What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
I took a literature class during the spring semester of my sophomore year with Professor Naomi Gal. At first it seemed crazy to me to sit in circle and use a microphone to talk about our feelings, however, it turned out to be something that made me reconsider how I look at my life. It reminds me to keep a positive attitude, and to just take life as it comes to me.

What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
I plan to graduate with enough credit hours to jump directly into taking my CPA exams. I also hope to make important connections through my internship experiences so that I can land a job at an accounting firm within a short period of time. I have also been having a growing interest in both the stock market, and real estate, and so I plan to look further into being a part of those markets as I move into my career.

What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My freshman year was not my best golf performance, however I managed to capture a moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. I became the first Greyhound to win the Rookie of the Year award in the Empire 8 Conference.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student?
Being an athlete has helped me as a student in many ways, but in particular I would like to point out that it has helped me to stay away from distractions to my academics. I feel as though if I am not doing schoolwork, I am practicing in some shape or form. I also believe that golf has given me a bit more confidence in how I approach academics, simply due to the fact that I know I am more than just a student at Moravian.

What is the hardest part of your sport?
Just about every sport has a teammate to pick you up when you’re struggling, however golf is a sport that kicks you when you’re down and unfortunately there is not a teammate to pick you up. We go out individually, and that is actually what I like most about the sport now. When you succeed, and when you fail, it all lies on you.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome.
I believe that low self-confidence is something that I have overcome over the past few years at Moravian. I used to go out there and play scared of all bad things that could happen, and I have now realized that there is nothing to be afraid about. I now step on the golf course with a confidence that I never had before, and I really look forward to the spring season.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian?
Community service is always something that I have made myself a part of, even before attending Moravian. As a student-athlete, I believe that it is important to understand that people look up to me, and that I need to give back to the community given that it is so great to me.

What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
For a prospective Moravian College student-athlete, I would say that Moravian has lived up to just about everything I thought it could be and more. The connections that I have made over the past few years has truly made me feel as a part of the family, and there are not many colleges like ours. As for athletics, it is important to understand that at Moravian we have the freedom to balance academics and sports so that we can become well-rounded individuals by the time we graduate.
