Greyhound Women Head to Dickinson on November 8 to Tip-Off 2019-20 Campaign

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball squad is set to tip-off the 2019-20 season with a road trip to Dickinson College for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference contest.

Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk enters her 33rd season with nine players back from last year's 16-10 squad that played in the Landmark Conference Semifinals, the program's 18th consecutive postseason appearance. Spirk has guided the Greyhounds to a 595-285 record and had the season extended past regular season in 29 of 32 years.

Moravian returns three of its five starters from last season led by senior guard Maddie Capuano, who was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team and D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team in 2018-19 and enters her senior season with 1,247 career points. Capuano averaged 20.7 points per game last season while leading the Greyhounds with 67 assists against just 68 turnovers, and she added 30 steals, a team-high 65 three-pointers and was 134-of-154 at the foul line (87.0 percent).

Senior forward Nadine Ewald returns as the top rebounder for the Hounds a year ago at 10.0 boards per contest, and she also averaged 13.7 points per outing while being named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team. Ewald topped the squad last season with 20 blocked shots to go with 65 assists and 31 steals. She enters her final season with 872 points and 648 rebounds in her career. Senior guard Karlie Brogan is the third returning starter for Moravian, and she averaged 11.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last year. Brogan led the squad with 48 steals, and she added 51 assists, 35 three-pointers and nine blocked shots to head to her senior year with 717 points.

Junior forward Jordan Beneducci had 15 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists before an injury sidelined her midway through the season while sophomore forward Kayla Yoegel had 33 rebounds, 32 points and seven blocked shots in her debut campaign. Senior guard Brooke Santy had 15 points 23 rebounds and 18 assists while junior guard Sarah Donati had 13 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Alix Buskirk contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds last winter while junior forward Raquel Lopez de Boer had five points and three boards in her first year with the Greyhounds.
