Kara Vashey, Women's Indoor Track & Field - Sodexo

Senior thrower Karalyn Vashey of the Moravian University's women's track and field team has been honored the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance during the week of December 1-7.

Vashey won the 20-pound weight throw in the Lehigh University Fast Times Before Finals with a school record and All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying toss of 16.71 meters (54-10) on her third attempt of the preliminaries Friday evening to begin the 2025-26 season.

Vashey is slated to return to action January 17 at the Moravian Blue & Grey Invitational at Lehigh University.

The Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week is selected on Mondays by Moravian's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Sodexo will be giving each week's winner a free Starbucks drink at DeLight's Café.
