Fitness Center Director & Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Spencer Brown

Bio

Spencer Brown came to Moravian in January 2012 to oversee Moravian's new 10,000-sq foot Fitness Center and 3,000-sq foot Performance Center. Since his arrival, Moravian College Athletics has seen a huge reduction in injury and increased athletic performance that stems from his knowledge and drive to help Moravian College students perform at their best.

He will serve as the Greyhounds' Strength & Conditioning Coach for 17 varsity sports. Brown will work directly with the Coaching Staff, Athletic Trainers, and Student-Athletes to develop individualized year-round strength and conditioning programs for each sport.

Brown will be responsible for all administrative duties that are required in operating the Moravian College Fitness Center which includes an assistant, interns, and student-workers.

Brown previously worked as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Lafayette College. He oversaw the daily operation of a 4,000-sq foot facility for 14 Leopards’ sport teams. 

Brown is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also certified as a Sport Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.

Brown was a Linebacker on the Lafayette Football team from 2006 to 2009 and a four-year letter winner.  He earned a spot on the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Brown is a 2009 graduate of Lafayette with a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and sociology.

The Florida native, graduated from J.W. Mitchell High School in New Port Richey. He was a second-team all-state selection at the “athlete” position in football and two-time state qualifier in weightlifting. Brown was the St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune Player of the Year.

He currently resides in Bethlehem with his wife Krystal and two children, Gavin and Faith.
