HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team captured nine event titles in the non-scoring Juniata College Invitational Saturday, the Greyhounds’ final meet before the 2021 Landmark Conference Championships.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team finished first of six teams at the Coach P Invitational hosted by the Greyhounds at Timothy Breidegam Track Saturday. The Hounds, who won eight events, scored 205 points to finish 68 points ahead of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team finished first of six teams in the annual Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track Saturday as the Hounds scored 261 points while The University of Scranton was second with 78 points.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation welcomed 71 student-athletes into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, in the Greyhounds’ fourth year with the organization Thursday in Johnston Hall.

TOWSON, Md. – Effective for all games (regular and postseason) scheduled on Monday, April 5 and later, the Landmark Conference Presidents Council that individual member institutions will have the autonomy to adjust and set their spectator policy for home contests. ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team took third place of five schools in the Elizabethtown College Early Bird Opener Saturday as the Greyhounds began their 2021 season. The Hounds finished with 161 points while Susquehanna University was first with 179 points.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams are scheduled to start their 2021 season on Saturday, March 27 at the Elizabethtown College Early Bird Opener with action beginning at 9:30 a.m.

TOWSON, Md. – After a scheduled meeting of the Landmark Conference Presidents Council, the council agreed to maintain the current ‘no spectator policy’ in place for all Landmark contests through Sunday, April 4.

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has named 44 student-athletes including four from Moravian College to the 2020-21 Winter All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team includes one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next alum in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know Series is former men's track & field student-athlete Parker Munson from the Class of 2015. Munson won the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship in the discus in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the shot put title in 2015 and 2016, and he captured the Landmark Conference Indoor Championship in the shot put in 2015. As a graduate student, Munson was selected as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for Men's Indoor Track & Field and was named the Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2016. He still holds the school records outdoors in the shot put and discus.

TOWSON, Md. – The Landmark Conference Presidents’ Council has approved a plan to conduct collegiate competition in fall and spring sports during the 2021 spring semester. As consistent with all decisions at the conference level, the safety and well-being of student-athletes remains the primary goal of the Landmark Conference.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation had 188 of its student-athletes receive Dean’s Honors List accolades from the College for achieving a 3.50 or higher grade-point average during the 2020 Fall semester.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next alum in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know Series is former men's cross country and track & field student-athlete Scott Seymour from the Class of 1995. Seymour was a member of the Greyhound squads to win the Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships in 1993 and 1994.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next alum in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know Series is former men's track & field student-athlete Ozzie Brown from the Class of 2010. Brown won the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship in the decathlon, and he was the 2008 NCAA DIII Indoor National Champion in the long jump. Brown, who was selected to the Moravian Hall of Fame this past summer and is currently the Head Track & Field Coach at McDaniel College, was a four-time All-American for the Greyhounds and a 30-time conference individual and relay champion including 13 titles in one year competing in the Landmark Conference.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next coach in the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation's Get to Know Coach series is Assistant Men's and Women's Track & Field Coach Jonathan D'Ottavio, who is in his eighth year with the Greyhounds. D'Ottavio coaches all the throwing events for the Hounds and he assists with the cross country teams during the fall.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is men's track & field student-athlete Tim King '22. King has helped the Greyhounds two a pair of Landmark Conference Indoor titles and one Outdoor championship in his career.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is men's cross country and track student-athlete Peter Gingrich  '21. Gingrich earned a gold medal in the 2020 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships by helping the 4x400-meter relay squad to a first place finish, and he also earned a gold medal in the distance medley relay at the Landmark Indoor Championships in 2018.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The annual Moravian College Athletics Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 9th has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The class of 2020 will be inducted a year later on Friday, October 8, 2021.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation is starting a new series to give an in-depth look into the members of the coaching staff each Tuesday. We begin the series with Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann, who is in his tenth year with the Greyhounds and has guided his programs to 36 Landmark Conference titles while earning Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honors 27 times since arriving at Moravian.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College honored its 2020 senior student-athletes with its Senior Athletics Award video that debuted on Sunday, August 16. Women’s basketball standout Maddie Capuano and women’s track & field/cross country runner Carly Danoski were named the Co-Outstanding Senior Female Athletes while baseball player Ian Csencsits and men’s track & field/cross country runner Greg Jaindl were honored with the Co-Outstanding Senior Male Athletes. The Blue & Grey Scholar Athlete awards were presented to Danoski and football player Sal Pagano.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Michael Abbate ’02; Stephen Brandafi ’40; Beresford “Ozzie” Brown ’10; Anna Heim Hilton ’10; Elizabeth Paly ’08; Stephanie Seaman Kennedy ’06 and Nathaniel Tussey ’08 make up the class of 2021 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2007-08 men and women’s track & field teams will also be inducted while Jon Otis ’79 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Today, Moravian College announced that in the absence of a fall sports schedule, in both the Landmark Conference and Centennial Conference (football), the Athletic Department will work with other colleges and universities to schedule scrimmages for teams and players interested in competing in their respective sports.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation will celebrate the accomplishments of their 2020 senior class with a virtual celebration on Sunday, August 16 with the Senior Athlete Awards show as a video beginning at 6:00 p.m. The banquet, which is typically hosted in May, was postponed because of COVID-19 and due to the continued pandemic has been moved to a virtual event.
