BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Nearly 90 area girls from kindergarten to eighth grade took part in a free Girls in Sports clinic in Moravian College's TImothy Breidegam Fieldhouse Saturday to complete Moravian's week-long celebration of the 40 years of Title IX.
The clinic featured the opportunity for all of the girls to experience eight different sessions with Moravian student-athletes and coaches. The children went through groups on physical fitness on the proper ways to run and stretch, basketball, field hockey, volleyball, softball, tennis, soccer and cheerleading.
After the two-hour clinic was completed, all the girls were invited to stay and have pizza and watch the 24th-ranked Moravian women's basketball team take on Goucher College in Johnston Hall.
