Hounds Fifth after Opening Round of Catholic Cardinal Classic
HAGERSTOWN, Md. --- The Moravian University men’s golf squad is in fifth place after the opening round Saturday of the two-day, 36-hole Catholic University of America Cardinal Classic being played at the Black Rock Golf Course in Maryland.

- The Greyhounds posted a four-player team score of 301 to sit in fifth place of the 14 teams in the tournament
- NCAA Division II Shepherd (W.Va.) University leads the tournament with an opening day score of 280
Moravian Results
- Senior Sam Bingaman is tied for 11th of the 76 golfers after shooting a one-over par round of 73 on Saturday. Bingaman had an eagle, two birdies and ten pars on his card
- Freshman Austin Fulton is tied for 21st with a three-over par 75 that included three birdies and 11 pars
- Junior Robbie McNelly fired a 76 to tie for 29th, and he had a birdie and 11 pars
- Senior Jason Koch was one shot back with a77 in the open round to sit in a tie for 37th, and his round included a birdie and 12 pars
- Freshman Timm Leidecker rounded out the lineup with a first round of 80 to tie for 54th. Leidecker had two birdies and four pars
