BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- After a strong showing last season, the Moravian College men's cross country team looks to perform at a high level for another season. The squad was picked to finish fourth in the Landmark Conference preseason poll. The Hounds return with two strong, experienced runners in senior Maxwell Korten and junior Cory Taggert, who have both posted solid times during the last season.
The Greyhounds are also looking for good times from sophomores Josh Toth and Robert Cahill, who both posted above average times in their races last season. The team has also added five new freshmen who will definitely give the team a boost in depth as well as bring lower times to the table.
"Whenever you lose All Region, or even All American athletes, it'll be a challenge to refill that talent," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "However, we have a good young core that will work towards that. Cory and Max are in as good of shape as they've been coming into the season. Andrew Mitchell will also add some good depth along with a number of freshmen who I'm confident can, and will perform much better than their PRs suggest they would coming into college. We have only two upperclassmen, so with that youth will come some inexperience, but it's also a great building block for the future of our team."
The team's first meet is scheduled for Friday, September 4th at the Lehigh University Invitational. The race will start at 5:30 p.m.
