Greyhounds Compete at First Day of ECAC Championships
ROXBURY CROSSING, Mass. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team had seven student-athletes compete in the opening day of the 2014 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track Center Friday.
ROXBURY CROSSING, Mass. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team had seven student-athletes compete in the opening day of the 2014 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track Center Friday.
The Greyhounds' 4x200-meter relay team of juniors Brianna Wright, Morgan Redmond and Brielle Sutter and sophomore Christelle Reglas finished 10th with a time of 1:45.68, the fifth-best time in school history. Wright also competed in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash, placing 23rd with a personal-best of 7.995 as four runners tied when rounded up to 8.00. Redmond also took 23rd in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.52 seconds. Junior Claire Del Casale was 26th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:56.00.
In the field events, freshman Lauren Suelke was 14th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.75 meters (35 feet, 3 1/4 inches) while junior Dana Fineman finished 26th in the pole vault at 3.23 meters (10 feet, seven inches).
Massachusetts Institute of Technology leads the team scoring after one day with 24 points. The second day of the meet begins on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
