ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The fourth seeded Moravian College men's soccer team saw its 2018 season come to a close with a 2-1 setback to top seed Elizabethtown College in the Landmark Conference Semifinals Wednesday evening.
The Greyhounds, who were playing the conference tournament for the first time in Landmark Conference history and the program's first conference playoff match since 2003, needed just 38 seconds to take a 1-0 lead. Sophomore midfielder Alec Aloia sent in a corner kick that senior midfielder David Durski headed into the net for his first goal of the season and the third of his career.
The Hounds remained in the lead until the 33rd minute when the Blue Jays scored to knot the score at 1-1.
Moravian nearly moved back ahead on a pair of shots by sophomore forward Ethan Blakely roughly 20 minutes into the half. However, it would be Elizabethtown that scored the next goal in the 69th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
The Blue and Grey earned a pair of corner kicks in the minute after the Blue Jays moved in front but were unable to find the net with a shot. Moravian also had a pair of corner kicks in the final four minutes with the Elizabethtown keeper stopping Durski from close range to keep the score at 2-1.
Sophomore goalie Michael Bone recorded seven saves in the contest as the Greyhounds finish Head Coach Bob Wilkinson's inaugural season at 7-9-2.
