TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College men's cross country team has been selected to finish third in the 2017 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll voted on by the conference coaches.
The Hounds received 40 points in the poll while defending Landmark Conference Champion Elizabethtown College was picked first in the poll with 68 points and six first-place votes while Juniata College received the other two first-place votes.
Head Coach Jesse Baumann enters his seventh season leading the program with 11 returning runners including sophomores Gavin Kemery and Gregory Jaindl, who both earned Landmark All-Conference honors a year ago with Kemery on the First Team with a sixth place finish at the 2016 Landmark Championships and Jaindl making the Second Team after finishing in 11th place.
"The men have a nice mix of youth and experience," Baumann commented. "We just had a time trial Monday and ran some of our fastest times since I've been at Moravian with Devon Harris and Greg breaking 4:25 for the mile. We have good depth as long as we can stay healthy and keep improving."
The Greyhounds will begin their 2017 season on Friday, September 1 at the Lehigh University Invitational with race time set for 5:30 p.m. on the Goodman Campus.
