Five Men’s Cross Country Runners Selected as Moravian Student-Athletes of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The five runners to earn NCAA Division III All-Metro Region honors – senior Shane Houghton, junior Josh Mangini and sophomores Owen Nahf, Jake Farrell and Nathan Hajel – from the Moravian University men’s cross country squad have been selected as this week’s Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for their performances last week.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The five runners to earn NCAA Division III All-Metro Region honors – senior Shane Houghton, junior Josh Mangini and sophomores Owen Nahf, Jake Farrell and Nathan Hajel – from the Moravian University men's cross country squad have been selected as this week's Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for their performances last week.
The quintet helped the Greyhounds to a third-place finish in the region and all placed in the top 35 to garner All-Region accolades. Nahf led the group as he took 14th of 176 runners on Saturday at DeSales University with a time of 26:20 on the 8,000-meter course. Houghton was one spot back in 15th at a time of 26:23 while Mangini finished 16th in 26:28. Farrell crossed the finish line in 18th with a time of 26:31 while Hajel rounded out the group in 24th at a time of 26:40. It was the second straight year that Houghton and Hajel garnered All-Region honors.
The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
