Women's Soccer Begins 2017 Slate with Three Home Matches Starting on September 1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team will begin the 2017 season on John Makuvek Field with a pair of matches over Labor Day weekend.

The Greyhounds start the season on Friday, September 1 versus Cortland State (N.Y.) University at 7:00 p.m. and then the Hounds will host Bryn Mawr College on Sunday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. Moravian will extend the home stand to a third match as the squad welcomes Stockton University on September 6 for a 7:00 p.m. for the second of six night matches during the season.

The squad makes its first road trip on September 9 with a non-conference contest at Alvernia University before returning home to host rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. The Greyhounds are scheduled to head to the College of Mount Saint Vincent on September 16 before a home contest with Albright College under the Makuvek Field lights at 7:00 p.m. on September 19.

The Hounds will begin their 2017 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, September 23 with a trip to The University of Scranton, and the squad closes out September with a non-conference contest at King's College on September 27 and another Landmark Conference match versus Drew University on Saturday, September 30.

October is set to start with Moravian welcoming Goucher College for another conference contest on Saturday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m., and the Greyhounds will travel to Elizabethtown College College on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Hounds will make road treks to The Catholic University of America on Saturday, October 14 for a Landmark Conference match and Ursinus College on Wednesday, October 18 in non-conference action.

Moravian will host Senior Day with its final home Landmark Conference match of the season on Saturday, October 21 when Juniata College comes to John Makuvek Field for a 1:00 p.m. start, and the Greyhounds will conclude the season on Saturday, October 28 in a Landmark Conference contest at Susquehanna University.

Moravian, which played in the Landmark Conference Championship match last season, looks to qualify for the Landmark Conference Tournament. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 1 with the finals on Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seeds home field.
