Anderson, Sutter & Catilao-Sanchez Tabbed 2024 Moravian Field Hockey Captains
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team has tabbed senior forward Sydney Anderson, senior midfielder Savannah Sutter and junior defender Carolina Catilao-Sanchez as captains for the 2024 season.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey team has tabbed senior forward Sydney Anderson, senior midfielder Savannah Sutter and junior defender Carolina Catilao-Sanchez as captains for the 2024 season.
"We are thrilled to have Savannah, Sydney, and Lina as our captains for the 2024 season," commented Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple. "Their diverse leadership styles and exceptional work ethic bring a fresh and dynamic energy to the team. We're excited to see how their combined strengths inspire and guide the group to success."
Anderson has started all 53 matches in her career for the Greyhounds, and she was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-Region V Second Team in 2022. Anderson has contributed 32 goals and nine assists for 73 points in three seasons, and she has netted eight match-winning goals in her career. Anderson enters the season tied for third in program history in career goals and fifth in career points.
Sutter, who is in her second year as a team captain for the Blue & Grey, has seen action in 53 career contests with 20 starts. She has contributed two assists and a trio defensive saves.
Catilao-Sanchez has played in 26 matches with 16 starts in her first two years with the program, and she helped the Greyhounds to five shutouts in 2023.
Moravian is slated to start the 2024 campaign on Saturday, August 31 with a non-conference match versus DeSales University beginning at 3:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
