Hounds Earn Shutout Win at Wilkes in Final Road Match of 2025
EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad earned a 1-0 victory over host Wilkes University in Landmark Conference action Saturday as the Greyhounds played their final road match of the 2025 season.

How It Happened
- The Hounds scored what ended up being the only goal of the match with just one second left in the first quarter as junior midfielder Maddie Snyder scored on a penalty stroke for the second consecutive match
- Neither squad was able to find the cage over the remainder of the match with the Blue & Grey holding a 16-14 edge in shots and a 13-9 advantage in penalty corners
Inside the Numbers
- Snyder's goal was her third of the season and her career, and it was her first penalty stroke goal
- Senior goalie Jessica Knox recorded ten saves in the contest for her first career victory and shutout
- Senior defender Carolina Catilao-Sanchez and graduate student midfielder Jordan Sponzo both recorded defensive saves to help preserve the shutout. Catilao-Sanchez has three career defensive saves with one this season while Sponzo has made a pair of defensive stops in 2025, her first with the Blue & Grey
