Moravian Elevates Morgan Mullen to Head Field Hockey Coach
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University has elevated Assistant Head Coach Morgan Mullen to become its next Head Field Hockey Coach effective immediately.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University has elevated Assistant Head Coach Morgan Mullen to become its next Head Field Hockey Coach effective immediately.
"I am thrilled to announce the promotion of Morgan Mullen to head field hockey coach," stated Associate Athletic Director Brynn McNamara. "As our assistant coach the last three seasons, Morgan's proven ability to recruit to Moravian set her apart from an impressive candidate pool. As a former Division III field hockey student-athlete and assistant coach, Morgan's commitment to the student-athlete experience and love for Moravian Athletics impressed the search committee. We are very excited to support her in this new role!"
Mullen came to Bethlehem in 2023 as a part-time assistant coach before being promoted to full-time assistant in 2025, and over the last three seasons, she has helped the Greyhounds to a pair of Landmark Conference Tournament Semifinal appearances.
"I would like to thank Athletic Director Mary Beth Spirk, Associate Athletic Directors Brynn McNamara and Rebecca May, and the entire search committee for the opportunity to lead the Moravian University Field Hockey Program," Mullen said. "As someone who has been part of this program for the past few years, I am truly excited and honored to step into the role as head coach.
"It means so much to me to be able to continue my journey here at Moravian," Mullen continued. "I am inspired to lead this talented and driven group of student-athletes as we pursue academic and athletic success, accomplish milestones together, and build something truly special here at Moravian. I believe in the potential of this program, and I am ready to hit the ground running."
Mullen competed collegiately at Ithaca College where she played in 56 career matches for the Bombers and contributed 32 goals and 12 assists in her career. Mullen was honored as a Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association First Team All-American in 2019 when she had 14 goals including four match-winning goals and two assists, and she was the USA North Atlantic Region Player of the Year, the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Year, an All-Liberty League and NFHCA All-North Atlantic Region First Team honoree and named to the All-ECAC Second Team.
Mullen was honored on the NFHCA All-Region 3 Second Team in 2021, and she made the All-Liberty League Second Team as a junior and the Honorable Mention squad last fall. Mullen also earned a spot on the NFHCA Division III Senior Team in 2021, and she was a two-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree and made the NFHCA National Academic Squad twice.
Mullen graduated from Ithaca with a bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration in sports management as well as minors in nutrition and coaching.
Mullen graduated from Northampton High School in 2018 where she was class president as well as the 2018 EPC Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year. For the last three years She has coached club for Phoenix Performance Academy, serving as Head Coach of u16/u19 teams. Her u16 team competed in Nationals this past indoor season. Mullen has also served as a Nexus coach: an Olympic Development Pathway coaching the elite age groups from the u14-u21 age division and participated in the selections process at the regional level.She has been the director of the PA Revolution Field Hockey Summer Camps for the last year and served as an Assistant Director for the past three years at various PA/NJ Revolution Camp locations.
Moravian is slated to begin its 2026 season on Wednesday, September 2 when the Greyhounds travel to Eastern University for a non-conference contest.
