The fourth seeded Moravian College men's tennis team had its 2010-11 season come to close with a 5-1 loss to top seed and defending champion Drew University in the semifinals for the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds close out the season with an 8-6 record.
Drew won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Moravian's win came at third doubles from senior Thomas Turcich and junior Stefan Apostolos. For Turcich, it was his 41st career doubles victory, tying the school record for doubles victories. Turcich closes his career with a 41-23 doubles mark, tying Ian Box in wins.
The teams only completed three singles matches with Drew winning all three to clinch the victory. Landmark Conference rules have the match end when one team reaches the five points needed to win. Turcich had forced a third set in his sixth singles match but was unable to finish the contest.
