The Moravian College men’s tennis team posted a 9-0 win at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action on Sunday as the Greyhounds clinched a berth in the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships with Juniata College's loss to The Catholic University of America on Sunday as well.
The Moravian College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 win at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action on Sunday as the Greyhounds clinched a berth in the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships with Juniata College's loss to The Catholic University of America on Sunday as well.
Moravian swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich and junior Stefan Toulouse at third doubles. With the win, Turcich, became the third player in school history to reach 40 career doubles victories.
The Greyhounds then won all six singles matches in straight sets with Holze becoming the fifth player in school history with 40 career wins with his victory at first singles. Morrow won at second singles while Shreter won at third singles and Yelito was victorious at fourth singles. Turcich earned a win at fifth singles while Toulouse finished the match with a win at sixth singles.
