Kutztown, Pa. --- The Moravian women's indoor track and field squad had a strong showing at the Kutztown University Last Chance Qualifier on Friday in the final tune-up to the Landmark Conference Championships next weekend.
In the women's events, senior Beth Ann Davies took fifth place in the pole vault with a height of 3.30 meters (10-10) while in the women's high jump senior Casie Cronk cleared the height on the first attempt putting Cronk in second with a height of 1.61 meters (5-03.25) and senior Melissa Cheong cleared her second attempt putting her in third place at the same height. In the long jump, three of the Greyhounds placed in the top 10. Freshman Jenevieve Eberly with a distance of 5.31 meters (16-10) putting her in sixth place and senior Carly Thorpe placing ninth with a leap of 4.90 meters (16-1) and coming in tenth place was Cronk in a distance of 4.84 meters (15-10.5).
On the track, in the 3,000-meter run freshman Alison Nicolosi finished in sixth with a time of 12:36.09 and followed by senior Kirsten Lebo in seventh place with a time of 13:10.95. In the women's mile run, sophomore Katie Mayer crossed the finish line in first with a time of 5:30.27 and followed behind is sophomore Ashley Rohrer in seventh place with a time of 5:48.61. Junior Amari Schooler finished in first in the women's 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.74 seconds and in the 55-meter dash three Greyhound runners placed in the top 10. Freshman Camaryn Wheeler finished in third with a time of 7.81 seconds, junior Schooler placing in fourth with a time of 7.85 seconds (7.841) and coming in fifth was junior Cecilia Fullowan with a time of 7.85 seconds (7.845). Sophomore Alyssa Ullmann took seventh place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:37.90 and in the 400-meter dash junior Anna Osman finished in second with a time of 1:02.01.
The Greyhounds are back in action on Saturday February 24 for the 2018 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships at Susquehanna University starting at 10:00 a.m.
