#20 Softball Opens 2013 Landmark Conference Season Saturday
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The 20th–ranked Moravian College softball team is set to open its 2013 Landmark Conference season with a doubleheader at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey on Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00 p.m.

The Greyhounds, who are 8-2 so far this season, were picked to repeat as conference champions for the sixth straight year in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll as selected by the conference head coaches. Moravian, under the direction of 20th–year head coach John Byrne (624-195), returns 15 letter-winners and nine starters from last spring.
Sophomore outfielder Dior George is leading Moravian with a .429 average, 15 hits, 15 runs, three doubles, two triples and four RBIs this season. Junior catcher Cassie Ernst is hitting .417 this season with ten hits, 11 runs, three doubles, two triples and a team leading 12 RBIs. Ernst has been hit by a pitch nine times this season for a .600 on-base percentage, and she enters the doubleheader four hits shy of becoming the 29th player in school history to reach 100 career hits.
Sophomore designated player/outfielder Jenn Dalickas is hitting .385 with ten this, nine runs, three doubles, a triple, two home runs and eight RBIs this season while junior outfielder Miranda Sergas has a .370 average to go with ten hits, nine runs, three doubles, a triple, seven RBIs and seven of the Greyhounds' 13 sacrifice hits. Senior third baseman Shannen Mohr in hitting .409 this season with nine hits, three runs, two doubles and six RBIS while junior outfielder/catcher Taylor Mihalik has added six hits, a run, two doubles, seven RBIs and a .316 average.
Senior shortstop Brook Kowal has five hits, three runs, a triple and an RBI this season while senior first baseman Amanda Dizinno has added five hits, three runs and two RBIs. In the field, Dizinno is just 48 putouts shy of the school career record of 954. Junior infielder Rachel DeLucia has five hits, four runs, a double, an RBI and a .500 average for the Greyhounds while sophomore infielder/pitcher Lizzie Mack has added five hits, a run, a double and three RBIs.
Junior outfielder Melissa Cottone has contributed two this, two runs and an RBI this spring for Moravian while junior second baseman Eavan Matz has a hit, a run and an RBI. Freshman outfielder Mary Schlosbon has one hit in her debut season while junior infielder Leann Ventriglia has scored three runs this year.
Senior Alyssa Fegely is 4-0 in the circle with a 1.40 ERA, three shutouts, nine walks and 20 strikeouts in 25 innings of action, and Fegely is hitting .360 with nine hits, four runs, two doubles and three RBIs this season. Freshman Carsin Conner is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA, one walk and seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings; however, Conner, who has two hits, a run, a triple and an RBI at the plate, will miss the remainder of the season with an injury.
Mack is 1-1 in the circle with a shutout, nine walks and 13 strikeouts in 12 innings while junior Elizabeth Tillou is also 1-1 with a save, three walks and seven strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings. Tillou has added two hits and three RBIs at the plate. Freshman Lindsay Sullivan has seen action in 8 2/3 innings in the circle with two walks and five strikeouts, and she is hitting .444 with four hits, three runs, three doubles and six RBIs at the plate.
Drew enters the doubleheader with a 6-4 record this season. Senior shortstop Jeramie Barletta leads the Rangers with a .433 batting average, 13 hits, ten runs, four doubles and eight RBIs while sophomore pitcher Laura D'Ornellas is 2-1 in the circle with a 1.33 ERA, one shutout, five walks and 12 strikeouts in 21 innings of action.
