Williamson & Leonard Named Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week
MADISON, N.J. – Senior Lisa Williamson of the Moravian College track & field team was named Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the week of February 27th. Junior Micah Leonard earned Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors. They helped the Greyhounds win its fifth straight Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
MADISON, N.J. – Senior Lisa Williamson of the Moravian College track & field team was named Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the week of February 27th. Junior Micah Leonard earned Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors. They helped the Greyhounds win its fifth straight Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
Williamson produced three individual top-2 finishes and was a part of a winning relay. She was voted Track Athlete of the Year as she won the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.23 and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay. She also placed second in the 200 in a time of 27.25 and the 400 where she ran 1:02.02.
Leonard was voted the Landmark Field Athlete of the Year for the second-straight season. She won the long and triple jumps at the meet to earn 20 points. She posted a mark of 5.52 meters (18 feet, 1 ¼ inch) to set a new meet record in the long jump, and matched her own meet record with a winning leap of 11.31 meters (37 feet, 1 ¼ inch) to place first in the triple jump. This is the second time Leonard garnered track athlete of the week (2/13; 2/27).
The Greyhounds head to the 2012 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships at the NYC Armory. The meet will take place on March 2-3.
