Greyhounds Capture Two Events at Seamus McElligott Invitational
HAVERFORD, Pa. --- The Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team split its squad on Saturday, and the group of competitors that traveled to the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford College came away with two individual event wins.
HAVERFORD, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team split its squad on Saturday, and the group of competitors that traveled to the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford College came away with two individual event wins.
Freshman Carly Danoski captured the first win with a first place finish in the 800-meter run in an ECAC qualifying time of 2:20.01.
Senior Meg Brockett then won the 5,000-meter run with an ECAC qualifying time of 17:20.20, the tenth fastest NCAA Division III time in the nation this season. The top 18 individuals in each event will compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships next month. Brockett's time was a personal best as well as the second fastest time in school history and a Landmark Conference record.
Freshman Katie Mayer also ran in the 5K and finished in ninth place with a time of 19:44.83.
Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, February 18 in the Kutztown University 6-Team Qualifier.
