TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Jackie Finnegan has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Finnegan captured first place in the hammer throw at the Misericordia University Invitational with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.37 meters (145-7), and she also won the discus with a toss of 35.50 meters (116-6). Finnegan, who was the Landmark Field Athlete of the Week indoors back on December 12, scored 20 of Moravian's 70 points in the meet as the squad finished fourth of seven teams.
"Jackie has been consistent all year and Saturday was no different," noted Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "We're starting to see some positive changes in the circle that we think can be a precursor to some bigger throws we know she's capable of the next few weeks and could lead to a big step forward for her."
Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29 at the Lehigh University Games in Bethlehem.
