Women Post Three ECAC Marks at Muhlenberg Invitational
ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women’s track & field squad posted three ECAC qualifying marks at the Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field squad posted three ECAC qualifying marks at the Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday.
Leading the way was junior Mary Kate Duncan, who won the javelin with an ECAC qualifying mark of 44.93 meters (146-10), which is second on the TFRRS list with the top 22 women qualifying for the NCAA Championships in May.
Junior Casie Cronk was third in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying height of 1.57 meters (5-1.75) while junior Melissa Cheong was fifth at 1.52 meters (4-11.75). Senior Kiara Bright placed fifth in the triple jump at 9.86 meters (32-4.25). Junior Nicole Capuano finished fourth in the javelin with an ECAC qualifying toss of 38.26 meters (125-6) while junior Beth Ann Davies was tied for sixth in the pole vault at 2.90 meters (9-6.25).
Senior Lauren White placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 13.11 seconds while freshman Meghan Lazarchak finished tenth in 13.62 seconds. White was also seventh in the 200-meter dash in 27.66 seconds while freshman Lily Cooper was a spot back at 27.75 seconds. Sophomore Amari Schooler finished tenth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.24 seconds. White, Schooler and Cooper combined with sophomore Abigail Strouse to finish fourth in the 4x100-meter relay in 50.88 seconds.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8 as the squad hosts the Annual Coach P Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and the Steel Athletic Complex. Action is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
