Moravian Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Jenn Dalickas ’15; Dillon Farrell ’15; Micah Leonard ’13; Allen Petros ’12; Dave Zubia ’12 and Jim Walker make up the class of 2025 that will be inducted into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2010 baseball squad will also be inducted on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian’s Family Day Weekend.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Jenn Dalickas '15; Dillon Farrell '15; Micah Leonard '13; Allen Petros '12; Dave Zubia '12 and Jim Walker make up the class of 2025 that will be inducted into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2010 baseball squad will also be inducted on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian's Family Day Weekend.
Dalickas, who graduated in 2015, had an All-American career on the softball field for Moravian as a first baseman and designated player. Dalickas earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III First Team All-America honors in 2015, and she made the NFCA All-America Second Team in 2014. Dalickas was a three-time NFCA All-Region First Team honoree, making the All-Atlantic Region squad in 2015 and the All-East Region team in 2013 and 2014. Dalickas was selected as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year in both 2014 and 2015, and she made the Landmark All-Conference First Team all four years she played for the Greyhounds. Dalickas posted a .442 career batting average, still second in program history, while collecting 205 hits, 133 runs, 160 RBIs, 53 doubles, 35 home runs, 89 walks, 373 total bases, an .804 slugging percentage and a .535 on-base percentage, she still holds the school records for doubles, walks, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. Dalickas also still holds Moravian's single season records for RBIs with 53 and slugging percentage at .991 set in 2014 and walks with 52 and on-base percentage at .642 both set in 2015. Dalickas was honored as Moravian's Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 2015.
Farrell, who completed his degree in 2015, was the first male to earn cross country All-America honors. As a senior, Farrell took 17th at the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country National Championships in his second appearance at the national meet. Farrell captured Landmark Conference Runner of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013 while finishing as the runner-up in 2014 to garner three Landmark All-Conference First Team accolades. He was also a three-time NCAA Division III All-Mideast Region runner, earning the honor in 2011, 2013 and 2014. On the track, Farrell was selected as the 2014 Landmark Conference Indoor Male Track Athlete of the Year after winning both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs. He earned two Landmark All-Conference First Team and three All-Conference Second Team honors indoors. Outdoors, Farrell garnered a pair of Landmark All-Conference First Team selections and four All-Conference Second Team honors. He also won the 10,000-meter championship at the 2012 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships, and Farrell was Moravian's Outstanding Senior Male Athlete in 2015.
Leonard, a 2013 Moravian graduate, was six-time All-American jumper for the Greyhounds' track & field teams. Leonard was the NCAA Division III National Runner-Up in the triple jump outdoors in 2013, and she added All-America honors in the long jump indoors in 2010 and 2011, the triple jump indoors in 2011 and 2013 and the triple jump outdoors in 2012. Leonard was honored as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Mideast Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2013, and she was selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2013 and the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013. During her career Leonard won 13 Landmark Conference individual titles and one relay title, and she captured five runner-up finishes for a total of 19 Landmark All-Conference selections in her four years. Leonard still holds the Moravian triple jump records – indoors at 39-2.5 and outdoors at 40-11, and she was Moravian's Outstanding Female Athlete in 2013.
Petros, a 2012 Moravian graduate, was an All-American defensive lineman on the gridiron for the Hounds. He was selected to the 2011 D3football.com All-America Third Team to round out his career. Petros was named to the D3football.com All-South Region First Team after his senior season in 2011 as well, and he was also selected to the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team the same year. Petros was a three-time Centennial All-Conference selection, making the First Team in 2010 and 2011 and the Second Team in 2009. Petros finished his career with a school record 63.5 tackles for loss, and he is second in program history with 28 sacks. He totaled 191 tackles in his four seasons to go with four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Zubia, who graduated in 2012, was an All-American shortstop on the baseball diamond for the Greyhounds. Zubia was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Division III All-America Second Team and the D3baseball.com All-America Third Team during his senior campaign in 2012, the same season he was honored as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year. Zubia was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2012 and the Second Team in 2010, and he earned spots on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, the D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team in 2012. Zubia played in 134 games for the Hounds, collecting 168 hits for a school record .385 career batting average, and he added 125 runs, 84 RBIs, 25 doubles, 41 stolen bases, 59 walks, 36 hit-by-pitch, a school record .493 on-base percentage, a .493 slugging percentage and 365 assists in the field.
Walker, who retired after the 2014-15 season, amassed a 442-440 record during his time in Bethlehem on the basketball court, and a career coaching mark of 456-452 in 36 years after getting his coaching career started with a year at Drew University for the 1978-79 season. Walker guided the Greyhounds to two NCAA Tournament bids, including one in 2007-08, 10 conference playoff appearances and six of his teams earned national rankings. In 2007-08, Walker and his staff earned Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors while leading Moravian College to a runner-up finish in the conference and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Walker led the 2012-13 Greyhounds to an ECAC South postseason appearance. He also led the Greyhounds to a Commonwealth League title in 1995-96 and was named the Commonwealth League Coach of the Year. He earned Middle Atlantic Conference Southwest Section Coach of the Year honors in 1987-88 and 1988-89, and Walker guided Moravian to the ECAC South title in in 1983-84. Walker was Moravian's men's tennis coach from 1979 until 2009, and his career includes the 1996 Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League championship and several conference playoffs appearances with a berth in the 2009 Landmark Conference Championship match. He was a ranked player in the Middle States Tennis Association and was a teaching member of the Professional Tennis Registry. He also directed the Greyhound tennis and basketball camps in the summer and the annual Fall Basketball Coaches Clinic at Moravian. Walker also served two stints as interim director of athletics for the Greyhounds.
The 2010 baseball team had a 26-15 record on the year including a 14-4 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season. The squad captured its first Landmark Conference title at Gillespie Field before heading to Trenton, New Jersey where the team played in its first-ever NCAA Division III Regional. Five Hounds were named to the Landmark All-Conference Teams with pitcher Chris Morrison and third baseman Jon Baltz selected to the First Team and first baseman Kevin O'Keefe, pitcher Brendan Close and Zubia honored on the Second Team. Morrison was selected as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year while Head Coach Paul Engelhardt and his staff was honored as the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
