Six Hounds Named College Sports Communicators Men’s At-Large Academic All-District
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University seniors Dan Kelly, Gannon Mesko and Kyle Weiss and juniors Ryan Kokoszka, James Panico and Mike Sickler have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team for NCAA Division III schools.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University seniors Dan Kelly, Gannon Mesko and Kyle Weiss and juniors Ryan Kokoszka, James Panico and Mike Sickler have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team for NCAA Division III schools.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's game or started 66 percent of the team's contests this year. For golf nominees, the student-athlete must have competed in 70 percent of the team's scoring events. Sports eligible for the men's at-large program are fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
By making the All-District Team, the group is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, July 9. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.
Kelly, an economics major with a 3.77 grade-point average, was fifth on the squad this spring with 32 points on 20 goals and 12 assists as a midfielder for the men's lacrosse squad to go with 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Kelly contributed 55 goals, 31 assists, 57 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers in 55 career matches for the Hounds with six starts. Kelly has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List eight times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Mesko, a marketing analytics major with a finance minor and a 3.55 grade-point average, led the Greyhounds in the face-off circle, going 177-for-318 to go with two goals, 59 ground balls and seven caused turnovers while starting all 16 matches for the men's lacrosse team this spring, and he was selected to the Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention squad. Mesko finished his career 639-for-1,146 on face-offs, setting the program career record for face-off wins, and he had four goals, an assist, 245 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers in 59 career contests for the Greyhounds with 50 starts. Mesko has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List twice, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Weiss, an education major with a minor in sociology and a 3.69 grade-point average, is a three-sport student-athlete for the Greyhounds, competing in soccer in the fall, indoor track & field in the winter and men's lacrosse in the spring. Weiss has been named to six CSC Academic All-District Teams in his career. On the lacrosse field, he played in all 16 matches as a midfielder this spring with three goals, six assists, 49 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Weiss posted six goals, ten assists, 128 ground balls and 37 caused turnovers in 59 career contests for the Moravian men's lacrosse team with one start. On the soccer pitch, Weiss had four goals and three assists in 68 career matches that include 53 starts. Weiss has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll and a five-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Kokoszka, a sports management major with a 3.90 grade-point average, started 15 of 16 matches this spring for the Greyhounds as an attack, and he had 30 goals, three assists, 21 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kokoszka has recorded 55 goals, 12 assists, 37 ground balls and five caused turnovers in 46 career contests for the Hounds with 28 starts. Kokoszka has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll twice.
Panico, a health sciences major with a 3.70 grade-point average, returned as a defender for the men's lacrosse squad after missing 2024 with an injury, and he had 28 ground balls and ten caused turnovers while seeing action in 15 matches with six starts. Panico has 49 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in 30 career matches with 21 starts. He been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List four times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll
Sickler, a nursing major with a 3.94 grade-point average, started all 16 matches this season as a defender for the men's lacrosse team, and he had an assist to go with 35 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. Sickler has posted an assist, 84 ground balls and 60 caused turnovers in 44 career matches for the Greyhounds with 33 starts. Sickler has been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List six times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and a member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll twice.
