Top 10 Games of 2024-25 - #4 Softball Walks Off in Extra Innings Versus Wilkes in Landmark Tournament

The next contest in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 4 highlight – the softball squad recording a 5-4, eight-inning walk-off win over Wilkes University in the opening game of the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament.

The next contest in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 4 highlight – the softball squad recording a 5-4, eight-inning walk-off win over Wilkes University in the opening game of the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament.
On the first day of the tournament on Saturday, May 10 at Blue & Grey Field, the Hounds needed extra innings to advance to the championship round of the tournament. The Colonels led 1-0 before the Greyhounds scored four runs in the fifth inning on an RBI single from junior catcher Marcie Silberman, a two-RBI single by graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore and an RBI single off the bat of senior left fielder Sage Snyder. Wilkes answered with three runs in the top of the seventh to force extra innings.
Sophomore designated player Krya Holtje hit a one-out single in the bottom of the second, and she moved to third on a single from junior third baseman Sydney Andrews. Senior right fielder Jessica Forder ripped an RBI single down the left field line to score Holtje with the winning run.
