Rayne Named Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior thrower Margie Rayne of the Moravian University’s women’s track & field team has been named the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior thrower Margie Rayne of the Moravian University's women's track & field team has been named the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.
Rayne was selected as the Women's Field Performer of the Year after capturing three event titles and helping the Greyhounds win their 15th Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship and first since 2022 over the weekend. On Saturday, Rayne captured the title in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.24 meters (145-1), and she also won the shot put with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying distance of 12.64 meters (41-5.75). On Sunday, Rayne took first the discus in an AARTFC qualifying, school and Landmark Conference record and PR toss of 44.06 meters (144-6) on her first attempt of the event. Rayne's record toss broke the school record of 43.57 meters (142-11.25) set by Christina Scherwin '05 at the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship.
The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
