Hounds Run Winning Streak to Seven with Three-Point Victory at Elizabethtown
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s basketball squad won its seventh straight game with an 84-81 victory at Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action Saturday.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a jumper by junior guard Chad Krazter just 17 seconds into action. The Blue Jays had a 6-4 edge before junior guard Porter Kelly drained a three-pointer at the 15:42 mark. The squads traded the leads with the contest tied for the fifth time at 16-16 with 11:55 on the clock. Kratzer sank two free throws to give the Blue & Grey the edge, and Moravian ran off six points with senior guard/forward Michael Leonardo draining a jumper for a 22-16 advantage with just over ten minutes left in the half
- The Hounds continued to stretch the advantage, reaching 13 points at 37-24 on a three-pointer by Leonardo. However, Elizabethtown finished the half with a 14-4 run to cut the Moravian lead to 41-38 at the intermission
- Freshman forward Jametric Harris hit a three-pointer early in the second half to give the Greyhounds a 44-40 advantage while Kratzer jumper had the Blue & Grey up 46-42. The Blue Jays ran off eight straight points to take a four-point edge, and Elizabethtown took an eight-point lead at 56-48 at the 15:25 mark. Moravian slowly closed the gap, getting within a point at 62-61 on a three-pointer from junior guard Colin Farrell with 11:41 remaining
- Kratzer tied the game at 63-63 with a jumper before the Hounds retook the lead at 66-63 on a three-pointer from Leonardo at the 10:05 mark. Moravian was up 70-64 with 8:05 remaining on a lay-up by sophomore guard Taylor Perlmutter. The Blue Jays scored eight straight to go back in front while the Blue & Grey tied the game for the ninth time at 77-77 on a lay-up from Kelly. Junior forward Marquis Ratcliff connected on a three-point play as the Greyhounds took the lead for good while Kelly iced the game with a pair of free throws with 22 seconds to go
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had all five of its starters score in double figures led by Kratzer, who netted 21 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists
- Kelly tossed in 15 points and had two rebounds while Harris finished with 14 points, four boards and a pair of blocked shots
- Leonardo had his fifth career double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds to go with three steals while Ratcliff posted ten points, eight rebounds and three assists
- Junior forward Liam Cummiskey recorded five points while Farrell had three points
- Perlmutter and graduate student guard Alex Dietz both had two points with Perlmutter dishing out two assists and Dietz grabbing three boards
- The Hounds were 33-for-67 from the field, 8-for-28 beyond the three-point arc and 10-for-14 at the charity stripe
