Greyhounds Win Fifth Straight with Victory at Goucher
TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse squad won its fifth straight match with a 20-8 victory at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action Wednesday.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring just 39 seconds into the match when freshman midfielder Ella Steirer found the net. Senior attack Jackie Salvatore made it 2-0 with a goal at the 10:32 mark before the Gophers got onto the scoreboard with 4:40 left in the period to make it 2-1. Sophomore attack Melissa Elefonte and Steirer both netted goals in the final 1:15 of the period to give the Hounds a 4-1 edge after 15 minutes of action
- The Blue & Grey ran off seven straight goals to start the second quarter with Salvatore netting the first of the period and two total in the quarter. Senior midfielder Alex Cherenson scored three goals while senior midfielder Madi Dippel added two goals. Goucher scored the final goal of the half to set the score at 11-2 at the intermission
- The Gophers scored the first goal of the third quarter and four total in the period; however, Moravian netted six goals to stretch the advantage to 17-6 after 45 minutes of play. Elefonte netted two goals in the third quarter while Cherenson, Dippel, Salvatore and Steirer all scored once
- The Hounds had a 3-2 edge in goals over the final quarter with Salvatore scoring twice and sophomore midfielder Reagan Reiner netting one goal
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian saw six players record a point with Salvatore leading the way with 11 points on six goals and five assists to go with three draw controls. The 11 points for Salvatore gave her double digits in scoring in four of the Hounds' last five matches
- Cherenson recorded four goals and an assist to go with one draw control while Dippel added three goals, three assists and three draw controls
- Steirer and Elefonte both contributed three goals and an assist while Reiner had one goal
- Junior Kayla Graef posted two saves and five ground balls in the first 30 minutes of the contest while sophomore Elle Burd registered one save in the second half
- Sophomore defender Maia Machado and freshman defender Mia Faisetty both had two ground balls
- The Hounds had a 34-15 advantage in shots and a 15-7 edge in ground balls
