Greyhounds Fall to Catholic on Senior Day
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s lacrosse team fell to visiting The Catholic University of America, 18-7, in Landmark Conference action on a rainy John Makuvek Field Saturday as the Greyhounds celebrated Senior Day.

How It Happened
- The Cardinals netted the first three goals of the match before freshman midfielder Ella Steirer hit the net with the Hounds' first goal of the contest. Catholic scored two more goals to lead 5-1 after 15 minutes of action
- Catholic stretched the advantage to 8-1 early in the second period before senior attack Jackie Salvatore netted a goal for Moravian. The Cardinals answered back before Salvatore scored again. Catholic added two more goals to take an 11-3 advantage into the intermission
- The Cardinals scored two goals to open the second half before Salvatore and senior midfielder Madi Dippel tallied goals on free position attempts to cut the deficit to 13-5 after 45 minutes of play
- Catholic put in five more goals in the fourth quarter while Steirer and freshman midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger netted goals for the Blue & Grey in the final period
- Prior to the contest, the Greyhounds recognized graduate student defender Keara Reilly and seniors midfielder Alex Cherenson, midfielder Madi Dippel, defender Leah Hoskin, defender Erda Nesmi, attack Jackie Salvatore and midfielder Isabella Ziccardi for their contributions to the program during their careers
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had four players record points with Salvatore contributing three goals and an assist to one with three ground balls and a draw control
- Steirer had two goals while Dippel contributed a goal, four ground balls, three caused turnovers and a pair of draw controls
- Hunsinger netted one goal with a draw control while senior midfielder Alex Cherenson posted four ground balls and two caused turnovers
- Graduate student defender Keara Reilly scooped up two ground balls while freshman defender Alanna McBrearty caused two turnovers
- Junior Kayla Graef posted 10 saves in the contest
- The Hounds had a 19-18 edge in ground balls in the match
