Greyhounds Fall to Susquehanna in Landmark Conference First Round

How It Happened
- Susquehanna scored the first four goals of the contest before freshman midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger got the Greyhounds on the scoreboard late in the first quarter to cut the River Hawks edge to 4-1 after 15 minutes of action
- Senior attack Jackie Salvatore netted a goal to begin the second quarter, and senior midfielders Alex Cherenson and Madi Dippel each tallied goals as Moravian tied the match at 4-4 with 8:48 on the clock. Salvatore continued the run as the Blue & Grey took a 5-4 edge a minute and a half later. The River Hawks stopped the run with a pair of goals while Salvatore scored one more time to send the squads to the intermission tied at 6-6
- The River Hawks opened the second half with three goals before Dippel found the net again with 7:35 to play. Susquehanna tallied three more goals in the final 4:37 while sophomore attack Melissa Elefonte scored for Moravian to make it 12-8 for the River Hawks after 45 minutes of play
- Susquehanna netted the only goal in the fourth quarter as the River Hawks drained the clock on nearly every possession
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had five players score points with Salvatore netting three goals and adding two assists to finish her career with Landmark Conference records of 201 assists and 379 points. Salvatore has a school record 120 points this spring for the Hounds, and she is second all-time at Moravian in career scoring. Salvatore had four draw controls and two ground balls in the match
- Dippel contributed two goals to go with three ground balls and a pair of caused turnover while Cherenson added a goal, six draw controls and three ground balls
- Hunsinger recorded a goal and two draw controls while Elefonte netted one goal
- Freshman defender Lillian Martino scooped up two ground balls
- Junior goalie Kayla Graef posted six saves
