BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. The next event in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 8 highlight – the men's lacrosse squad posting a 9-8 overtime win at Kean University on a goal by senior midfielder Dominick Gurreri.
The Greyhounds, who completed the 2019 campaign at 8-7 overall, played a total of four one-goal matches this past spring including a 1-1 mark in overtime with the match at Kean coming as the second of back-to-back matches that needed extra time.
On Monday, April 1, the Hounds traveled to Kean to make up a non-conference contest that had been postponed on Saturday, March 2 due to snow. Moravian scored the first two goals of the match to build a 2-0 lead before the Cougars scored four straight goals to hold a 4-2 lead at the intermission. The Greyhounds would net four tallies in the third quarter to lead 6-5 after 45 minutes of action.
Junior attack Cade Siddron had three goals including one in the fourth quarter for a 7-6 lead, and freshman attack Connor James put Moravian up 8-7 with just under two and a half minutes remaining in regulation. However, Kean scored with six ticks left in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Gurreri netted his winning goal 1:38 into overtime on a long shot.
