#21 Softball Shutsout Ablright in Both Games
The 21st-ranked Moravian College softball team ran its winning streak to seven games with a pair of 8-0, five-inning wins over visiting Albright College in non-conference action at Blue & Grey Field Thursday afternoon.

In the opener, Moravian scored twice in the bottom of the first inning for a 2-0 lead. Freshman outfielder Taylor Mihalik had an RBI single to score freshman outfielder Miranda Sergas while junior pitcher Jenna Carmon scored on a first-and-third play that had Mihalik steal second base.
Moravian then scored six times in the bottom half of the fifth in institute the NCAA eight-run rule. Freshman first baseman Elizabeth Tillou had an RBI single while senior designated player Stephanie Falzarano hit a two-RBI double. Senior outfielder Olivia Evanko, pictured at right, had an RBI single in the inning while senior outfielder Amanda Paulus had a two-RBI single to score the final runs of the game.
The Greyhounds had a 6-2 edge in hits with Falzarano going one-for-two with a pair of RBIs.
Carmon improved to 7-1 in the circle for Moravian with her fourth shutout of the season. She allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two batters. Sophomore Allie Frank took the loss in the first for Albright.
The Greyhounds took 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning in the second game. Evanko and freshman catcher Cassie Ernst drew one-out walks, and Carmon reached on a fielder's choice. With runners on the corners, Carmon faked a steal to draw a throw to second base that allowed Evanko to score.
Moravian added seven runs in the bottom of the fifth in the second contest for the NCAA eight-run rule again. Carmon started the scoring with an RBI double while Mihalik had a three-RBI pinch-hit triple. Sophomore first baseman Amanda Dizinno, pictured at left, had an RBI single for the Greyhounds while the final two runs scored on passed balls.

Sophomore Alyssa Fegely improved to 5-2 in the circle for Moravian with her fourth shutout of the season. She allowed three hits and a walk while striking out four batters. Junior Alex Tragno took the loss for the Lions.
