#21 Moravian Wins 9th Straight After Sweep of Hunter College
The 21st-ranked Moravian College softball team ran its winning streak to nine games with a sweep of Hunter College, 7-1 and 8-5, in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Blue & Grey Field.

In the opener, Moravian scored all four of its runs in the bottom of the third inning. Junior pitcher Jenna Carmon, pictured at right, had an RBI single while sophomore third baseman Shannen Mohr had a two-RBI single. Sophomore first baseman Amanda Dizinno finished off the scoring with an RBI single.
The Hawks would stop Moravian's scoreless streak at 29 innings when they scored twice in the top of the sixth inning. Sophomore third baseman Molly Meehan had an RBI single for Hunter while senior outfielder Christina Baker added an RBI ground out.
Hunter had a 6-5 edge in hits in the opening game with senior shortstop Megan McKenna going two-for-three and junior outfielder Crissette Maxwell going two-for-four. For Moravian, Carmon was two-for-three to become the 25th player in school history to reach 100 career hits. Mohr was one-for-one with two RBIs.
In the circle, Carmon won her eighth straight decision for the Greyhounds, allowing a pair of unearned runs on six hits to go with five strikeouts. Freshman Angel Iacovetti took the loss for Hunter.
In the second game, Moravian took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first single on an RBI single by freshman catcher Taylor Mihalik.
The Greyhounds added three runs in the bottom of the third inning for a 4-0 advantage. Mihalik had an RBI triple in the inning while Carmon and Mohr, pictured at left, hit RBI singles.
Moravian pushed a run home in the fourth inning on an error by Hunter, and the Greyhounds finished off the scoring with a run in the sixth inning on an RBI pinch-hit single from freshman Rachel DeLucia.
The Greyhounds had an 11-5 advantage in hits in the second game with Mihalik going two-for-three with two RBIs. Senior second baseman Stephanie Falzarano was two-for-two for Moravian.
In the circle, senior Elizabeth Python improved to 3-0 on the season for the Greyhounds, allowing five hits to go with five strikeouts. The win was also the 30th of Python's career. Freshman Amanda Annicaro took the loss for Hunter.
