Willis Named Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman Ali Willis has been named as the Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman Ali Willis has been named as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Willis helped Moravian to a 7-0 sweep of Lycoming College to begin the 2024-25 Landmark Conference season. Willis combined with freshman Nicole Kalorin for a 6-3 win at second doubles, and Willis posted a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at fourth singles to clinch the winning fifth team point.
"Alison secured her first conference wins this weekend in both singles and doubles," commented Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "She consistently puts in extra effort outside of practice and is incredibly coachable, making her an essential part of our team."
Moravian is scheduled to return to the courts on Thursday, October 10 when the squad welcomes FDU-Florham for a non-conference match starting at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
