Greyhounds to Play Scranton in Landmark Conference Championship Match on May 4
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The top seeded Moravian University women’s tennis squad is set to play third seed The University of Scranton on Sunday, May 4 in the 2025 Landmark Conference Tournament Championship match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Central PA Tennis Center in Williamsport.

The Greyhounds enter the contest with a 17-3 record this spring including a 9-0 mark in Landmark Conference action under the guidance of fourth-year Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. Moravian is in the postseason for the eighth consecutive year. The Hounds, who have won five Landmark Conference titles and a total of 13 conference championships in program history, defeated the Royals, 6-1 in Scranton back on March 29.
Moravian is making its sixth straight appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship match and is looking for its first title since 2021. The Blue & Grey are 4-0 versus Scranton in Landmark Conference title contests.
Sophomores Sydney Shifman and Leah Zolotareva are both 16-4 on the season while freshman Ali Willis and junior Izzy Szmodis each have 15-5 on the year. Freshman Nicole Kalorin has an 11-7 singles slate while sophomore Ali Bender is 7-0 since returning from an injury. Freshman Jenna Gower is 4-2 in singles action while sophomore Katherine Georgiou is 3-2 in singles play.
The doubles tandem of Szmodis and Zolotareva has a 16-4 mark this season while Kalorin and Willis are 12-8 on the year. Shifman and Georgiou have teamed up for a 4-3 slate while Shifman has also combined with Gower for a 3-0 doubles mark and Shifman is 6-1 with Bender.
Scranton defeated six seed Juniata College, 4-1, in the First Round to advance to the Semifinals where the Royals defeated second seed Goucher College, 4-2.
The winning team on Sunday will receive the conference's automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show for women's tennis is scheduled for Monday, May 5 at noon on NCAA.com.
