Kratch, Smilgis & Vecchio Lead Greyhounds at F&M Meet
LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team ran a split squad on Saturday and sent student-athletes to compete at the non-scoring Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College.

Leading the team was sophomore Jenny Kratch with a runner-up finish in the 20-pound weight throw at 13.03 meters (43 feet, nine inches) and a third place in the shot put at 10.66 meters (34 feet, 11 ¾ inches). Junior Amanda Smilgis was the runner-up in the pole vault at 3.00 meters (nine feet, ten inches) and the runner-up in the long jump at 4.28 meters (14 feet, ½ inch).
Sophomore Giana Vecchio was second in the triple jump at 9.52 meters (31 feet, three inches), and she was third in the long jump with a leap of 4.26 meters (13 feet, 11 ¾ inches) and fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in 10.77 seconds. Sophomore Alissa Hoffman was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 9.69 meters (31 feet, 9 ½ inches).
On the track, sophomore Devon Bedell was fifth in the mile run with a time of 5:54.86 while senior Emma Pacheco was eighth in 6:09.35 and sophomore Alyssa Tallon finished ninth in 6:09.74. Freshman Dana Sencindiver placed sixth in the 55-meter dash in 8.92 seconds, and she was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 33.61 seconds.
Moravian will return to action on Saturday, February 23rd as the women's team seeks its sixth straight Landmark Conference title in the 2013 meet hosted by Susquehanna University starting at 10:00 a.m.
