Sutter Sets School Record in 400 at NCAA Championships
LA CROSSE, Wis. --- Sophomore sprinter Brielle Sutter of the Moravian College women's track & field team ran a school record time of 56.97 seconds in the 400-meter dash preliminaries on the second day of the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted by The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
LA CROSSE, Wis. --- Sophomore sprinter Brielle Sutter of the Moravian College women's track & field team ran a school record time of 56.97 seconds in the 400-meter dash preliminaries on the second day of the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted by The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
Sutter, who was making her first appearance at the NCAA meet, was in the first of three heats and entered with a qualifying mark of 57.06. Sutter was in lane four of the 10-lane track and finished fifth of eight competitors in her heat and 17th of the 21 runners in the race with her record time, the first in school history below the 57 second mark.
The three heat winners and the next six fastest times advances to tomorrow's final race with the ninth and final spot coming down to the thousandth of a second to determine the final qualifier.

The three-day championship meet will feature four Moravian student-athletes on Saturday with seniors Micah Leonard and Travis King and junior Kristopher Joint in the triple jump and junior Timothy Lorah in the javelin. Sophomore Hailey Kester earned All-America honors on Thursday with a sixth place finish in the pole vault to score three points for the women's team.
