Greyhounds Finish as Runner-Up at 2026 Landmark Conference Indoor Championship
SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s indoor track & field team finished as the runner-up at the 2026 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University Saturday.

Moravian Event Winners
- Sophomore Emma Shafnisky won the 60-meter hurdles in a school record and All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 9.05 seconds after running a time of 9.25 seconds in the preliminaries
- Senior Karalyn Vashey captured the 20-pound weight throw with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 16.25 meters (53-3.75)
Moravian Top 10 Results
- Senior Tara Smurla finished second in the 5,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 17:57.28 while senior Meghan Myers was sixth at an AARTFC qualifying time of 18:36.06 and senior Tori Champagne took seventh in 19:14.46
- Shafnisky was the runner-up in the long jump with an AARTFC qualifying distance of 5.41 meters (17-9) while sophomore Kennedy Simons took fourth at 5.18 meters (17-0)
- Senior Heather Adams took second in the weight throw with a PR and AARTFC qualifying toss of 15.65 meters (51-4.25) while sophomore Jessica Heydt placed fourth at 14.56 meters (47-9.25), sophomore Naaliyah Slater finished sixth at 14.05 meters (46-1.25) and senior Margie Rayne was ninth at 13.13 meters (43-1)
- Senior Ali Haefele finished second in the high jump at 1.52 meters (4-11.75) while sophomore Erika Dietz was tenth at 1.42 meters (4-7.75)
- Sophomore Tessa Hopkins placed second in the pole vault at a height of 3.15 meters (10-4) while sophomore Annika Petyk was sixth at 2.60 meters (8-6.25)
- Rayne was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 12.05 meters (39-6.5) while Vashey took fourth at 11.69 meters (38-4.25) and freshman Natalia Smith was fifth at 11.48 meters (37-8)
- Simons finished third in the triple jump with an AARTFC qualifying distance of 10.93 meters (35-10.5) while Haefele took fifth at 10.43 meters (34-2.75) and sophomore Bella Fiore was ninth at 9.85 meters (32-3.75)
- The Hounds' 4,000-meter distance medley relay squad of sophomore Emerson Beamer and freshmen Kiley Amend, Ligia Parada Garcia and Kate Veivia was third in a time of 13:15.43
- Smurla placed fourth in the mile run in an AARTFC qualifying time of 5:17.25 while junior Kayla O'Neil was seventh in 5:28.69, junior Kierstyn Klingner finished eighth at 5:31.85 and freshman Kate Vickers took tenth in 5:41.90
- Moravian's 4x200-meter relay team of senior Shai Knight, junior Rachele Grigoli and freshmen Naomi Craig and Morgan Tandy took fourth with an AARTFC qualifying time of 1:48.37
- The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay team of Knight, Grigoli, Tandy and Parada Garcia was fourth in an AARTFC qualifying time of 4:07.91
- Smurla finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:40.97 while Veivia took sixth in 10:41.57 and Champagne was ninth at 10:55.67
- Grigoli placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.84 while Knight was ninth at 1:02.01
- Knight placed ninth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.03 seconds
- Parada Garcia took tenth in the 800-meter run in 2:30.73
