Top 10 Stories of 2024-25 - #8 Moravian Earns Seven Coach of the Year Honors
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2024-25 athletic campaign. The third entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 8 highlight – Moravian’s coaching staff earning seven coaching staff of the year awards including six from the Landmark Conference and one from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The third entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 8 highlight – Moravian's coaching staff earning seven coaching staff of the year awards including six from the Landmark Conference and one from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann and assistant coaches Jon D'Ottavio and Molly Sear were honored as both the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year and the USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country Metro Region Coaching Staff of the Year. The trio guided the men's squad to their fourth straight Landmark Conference title as well as the program's first NCAA Division III Metro Region team championship and team berth to the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Baumann along with D'Ottavio, Sear, Beth Ann Davies, Ryan Harper, Sean McFarland and David Scheck were selected as both the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Greyhounds to Landmark Conference titles during the indoor and outdoor seasons. The indoor championship was the 13th Landmark Conference Indoor Championship for the Greyhounds and first since 2020 while the outdoor title was the program's 15th Landmark Conference Championship and first since 2022.

Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas along with her assistants Peter Demyan, Nicholas Espinoza, Eiman Nazif and Lauren Steinert were named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis and Women's Tennis Coaching Staff of the Year. The women's team had a 17-4 overall record and an undefeated 9-0 slate in the Landmark Conference regular season that earned the Blue & Grey the top seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament. The men's squad posted a 13-8 overall record and a 6-3 slate in the Landmark Conference regular season to garner the fourth seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament.

Head Softball Coach Josh Baltz and his staff of Leah Holmes, Janae Matos, Amy Rogers, Justine Rossi and Paige Zigmund was honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Coaching Staff of the Year after leading Moravian to a 40-9 record, the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship, the program's 12th Landmark title, the 2025 NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional championship and a berth to host a Super Regional at Blue & Grey Field. The Greyhounds have 20 overall conference titles, 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, seven Regional titles, four Super Regional berths and one title and four appearances in the NCAA Division III Championship Finals.
