TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior Jerome Luckey has named the Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for his performance last week.
Luckey took first in the high jump at the Franklin & Marshall College Blue & White Invitational at an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying height of 1.95 meters (6-4.75). Luckey also was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.38 meters (20-11.25).
"Jerome's high jump has been steady as always throughout the winter, but then his long jump has really reached a new level this winter," stated Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann. "His explosiveness down the runway and off the board really stand out when you see him. This weekend, he was literally sprinting over from the high jump when that wrapped up over to the long jump to take his attempts, so he's nearing 21 feet on really tired legs. He's a tremendous athlete who is really excelling late in this season!"
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, February 13-14 with the squad competing in the Widener University Indoor Classic with the throwing events at Widener on Friday and the remainder of the meet at the Jane and David Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday.
