Twelve Hounds Earn 2026 USTFCCCA Men's Outdoor All-Metro Region Honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Moravian University men’s track & field squad has had 12 student-athletes named as 2026 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region, earning a total of 15 All-Region honors.

For a student-athlete to earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be ranked in the top-8 of an individual event in the region according to the final Track & Field Results Reporting System data or be part of a top-8 relay team. The program must also be a member of the USTFCCCA. Moravian is part of the Metro Region.
Junior Gavin Hefferan earned All-Region honors in both the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter run with the region's second-best time in the steeplechase of 9:28.36 at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships at Ursinus College on May 13 and the eighth-fastest time in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 14:48.84 at the Princeton University Sam Howell Invitational on April 4. Senior Bryan Kerchner garnered All-Region in the 1,500-meter run with the eighth best-time of 3:56.01 at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic on April 11.
Moravian had a pair of relay squads earn All-Region honors with the 4x100-meter relay team of graduate student Kyle Weiss, senior Jacob Fenstermaker and sophomores Owen Smith and CJ Moore posting the eighth fastest time of 41.82 seconds at the AARTFC meet. The quartet of Weiss, Smith, sophomore Delferson Contreras and freshman Ramses Valera recorded the region's fourth-best time in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:17.77 also at the AARTFC meet.
Junior Anthony Morillo garnered All-Region in the discus with the third-best mark in the region at 48.43 meters (158-11) at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational on April 17 while sophomore Julius Reyes was seventh in the discus with a mark of 45.24 meters (148-5) during the Lehigh University Carol & John Covert Classic on April 24. Sophomore Marcus Morales had the seventh-best mark in the javelin at 55.98 meters (183-8) at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Juniata College on May 2 while freshman Justin Nunes earned All-Region in the triple jump with the eighth-best mark of 14.16 meters (46-5.5) at the Coach P Invitational.
