Moravian Shuts Out La Roche in Weather-Shortened Match

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring just 47 seconds into the contest as senior attack Ryan Kokoszka found the net. After a short weather delay, the contest resumed with the Blue & Grey netting four more goals to lead 5-0 when the second weather delay hit in the final minute of the first quarter. Kokoszka scored again off a pass from freshman attack Jack Minetti while junior attack Nick Coffaro netted three unassisted goals
- After the weather delay, the Hounds added five more goals in the second quarter to stretch the advantage out to 10-0. Junior midfielder Adam Twist tallied an unassisted goal less than a minute into the quarter while junior midfielder Hunter Klapmuts added a goal 30 seconds later. Junior attack Kyle Gann found the net off an assist from Coffaro at the 8:20 mark while freshman midfielder Sean McMahon scored with 5:51 to play in the second quarter as Coffaro registered his 100th career point on the assist. Coffaro finished the half with a goal assisted by sophomore midfielder Robert Celona
- Due to the earlier weather delays and darkness setting in, the squads immediately went to the second half with Kokoszka netting a man-up goal just 22 seconds into the third period off a pass from Gann. Junior attack Jay Ashforth added an unassisted goal before senior attack Vincent Devito scored with an assist from Gann. Gann netted an unassisted tally before Ashforth scored again in the final minute of the quarter off a pass from sophomore defender Jace Schmalz to make it 15-0 after 45 minutes of action
- Ashforth scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, the first assisted by Gann and the other unassisted on a man-up opportunity. After the second goal of the period, the match was ended with 11:19 to play due to darkness and more weather moving into the area
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had 11 players register a point in the contest led by Coffaro, who had four goals and two assists to become the 12th player in program history to record 100 career points, and he also scooped up four ground balls
- Ashforth netted four goals while Kokoszka recorded a hat trick
- Gann registered two goals, three assists and a pair of caused turnovers while Twist, Devito, Klapmuts and McMahon all had one goal
- Celona, Minetti and Schmalz each had one assist with Schmalz adding a pair of ground balls
- Sophomore face-off specialist Owen Deady went 8-for-8 on face-offs with five ground balls while freshman short stick defensive midfielder Luke Bartnett going 5-for-5 on face-offs with two ground balls
- Sophomore long stick midfielder Dylan DeNaples posted two ground balls and two caused turnovers while sophomore short stick defensive midfielder Finn McGovern contributed three ground balls and senior short stick defensive midfielder RJ Toogood had a pair ground balls
- Junior goalie Liam Kelly, freshman goalie Rory Jenkins and sophomore goalie Chris Piluso combined on the shutout while not facing a shot in the contest
- The Blue & Grey had a 41-0 advantage in shots, a 26-3 edge in ground balls, scored on both man-up opportunities and were 14-for-15 on face-offs
