Hounds Rally for Landmark Conference Victory Versus Drew
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men’s lacrosse team rallied from a 6-3 third quarter deficit with the last six goals of the match to earn a 9-6 victory over visiting Drew University in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- The Rangers netted the opening goal of the contest before freshman attack Jack Minetti scored a man-up goal at the 3:21 mark to knot the score off a pass from senior attack Ryan Kokoszka. Drew tallied again in the final minute of the quarter to lead 2-1 after 15 minutes of play
- Drew also had the first goal of the second quarter to stretch its advantage to 3-1. Junior attack Nick Coffaro netted an unassisted goal while Minetti found the net on a fast break from sophomore long stick midfielder Dylan DeNaples with just under two minutes left in the half to send the squads to the intermission tied at 3-3
- The Rangers began the second half with three straight goals to push the lead out to 6-3. Coffaro ended the run with an unassisted goal at the 6:58 mark. Junior midfielder Hunter Klapmuts scored 40 seconds later, and junior attack Adam Twist knotted the contest at 6-6 with an unassisted goal at the 4:20 mark. Just over a minute later, Minetti found the net on a fast break pass from sophomore short stick defensive midfielder Jake Bicking, and Minetti made it 8-6 just six seconds later after a face-off win and assist from sophomore Owen Deady
- The Hounds scored only goal of the fourth quarter with just under four minutes remaining as sophomore Robert Celona tallied an unassisted goal as the possession clock wound down
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had nine student-athletes garner points led by Minetti with four goals to go with a pair of ground balls
- Coffaro netted two goals while Twist, Celona and Kalpmuts each had one goal
- Kokoszka, DeNaples, Bicking and Deady all had one assist with Deady going 10-for-18 on face-offs with five ground balls and DeNaples adding a pair of caused turnovers
- Freshman attack Tyler Bowden scooped up five ground balls while senior defender Mike Sickler contributed four ground balls and four caused turnovers and junior long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese had three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
- Senior short stick defensive midfielder RJ Toogood posted three ground balls while junior attack Kyle Gann added two ground balls
- Junior goalie Liam Kelly registered 12 saves to go with four ground balls and two caused turnovers
- The Hounds held a 38-30 edge in ground balls while going 10-for-18 on face-offs and 21-for-26 on clearing attempts
