Moravian Falls to Concordia Wisconsin to Wrap-Up First Day of Trip at The Spring Games
KISSIMMEE, Fla. --- The Moravian University softball squad fell to Concordia Wisconsin University, 10-7, to end the first day of action at the PFX Spring Games in Florida Monday.

How It Happened
- The Falcons scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning for a 3-0 edge
- The Greyhounds answered with two runs in the top of the second frame to cut the deficit to 3-2. Senior left fielder Sage Snyder drew a leadoff walk while sophomore designated player Kyra Holtje hit an infield single. Junior right fielder Sarah DeStefano ripped a two-RBI double to left center to chase Snyder and Holtje across the plate
- Concordia pushed three more runs home in the bottom of the second to push the lead to 6-2
- The Blue & Grey countered with three runs in the top of the third inning to pull within a run at 6-5. Senior first baseman Lindsey Gawrys led off with a single before junior catcher Marcie Silberman connected on a two-run homer to right field, her first home run of the season and 23rd of her career. Snyder drew another walk, and she raced home on an RBI sacrifice fly from graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore
- Moravian pulled ahead with two runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 7-6 edge. Sophomore center fielder Leah Chladny and senior shortstop Holly Walter both hit one-out singles before scoring on a two-RBI single from Snyder
- The Falcons moved back in front with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, and Concordia finished with the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the sixth
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had 12 hits with Silberman going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a run, a double and a homer
- DeStefano and Andrews were both 2-for-4 with DeStefano adding two RBIs and a double while Snyder had two runs, two RBIs, two walks and a hit
- Walter, Gawrys, Holtje and Chladny all recorded one hit and one run with Gawrys scoring the 100th run of her career while Elmore had a hit and an RBI
- Junior Natalie Otto started the game in the circle and posted one strikeout in 1.1 innings of work before Holtje tossed the final 4.2 innings with one strikeout
