Moravian Shuts Out Emmanuel (Mass.) to Finish Trip to The Spring Games as Silberman Collects 100th Hit
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. --- The Moravian University softball team shut out Emmanuel (Mass.) College, 7-0, to conclude the spring break trip to The Spring Games Friday.

How It Happened
- The Blue & Grey took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Junior catcher Marcie Silberman connected on a two-out single for the 100th hit of her career and moved into scoring position on a single from senior left fielder Sage Snyder. Sophomore designated player Kyra Holtje ripped an RBI single to score Silberman
- The Hounds doubled the advantage to 2-0 with a run in the second frame. Junior right fielder Sarah DeStefano reached on an error and raced home on an RBI double from senior shortstop Holly Walter
- Moravian made it 6-0 with three runs in the third. Silberman was hit by a pitch with sophomore Madelin Cooper coming in to pinch run. Cooper eventually scored on a wild pitch while graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore connected on an RBI triple to bring in Snyder, who was also hit by a pitch, and Holtje, who had drawn a walk. Junior third baseman Sydney Andrews had an RBI groundout to chase Elmore across the plate
- The Greyhounds scored the final run in the bottom of the sixth inning when senior first baseman Lindsey Gawrys doubled and raced home when Silberman reached on an error
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had eight hits in the game with Elmore going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a double, a triple and a run
- Holtje was also 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI wile Walter had one hit, a double and an RBI
- Gawrys, Silberman and Snyder all had a hit and a run as Silberman became the 55th player in program history to reach 100 career hits
- DeStefano and Cooper both scored once while Andrews recorded an RBI
- Holtje made the start in the circle for the Blue & Grey, and scattered one hit and two walks while striking out
