Six Hounds Selected to 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region V Teams
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano and junior catcher Marcie Silberman have been selected to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region V First Team while graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore and senior outfielder Sage Snyder earned spots on the All-Region Second Team and senior shortstop Holly Walter and sophomore utility player/pitcher Kyra Holtje were honored on the Third Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Moravian University junior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano and junior catcher Marcie Silberman have been selected to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region V First Team while graduate student second baseman Ajala Elmore and senior outfielder Sage Snyder earned spots on the All-Region Second Team and senior shortstop Holly Walter and sophomore utility player/pitcher Kyra Holtje were honored on the Third Team.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the ten Division III regions. All the All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced on May 28.
The No. 18 Greyhounds are currently 39-7 on the season with the squad in the midst of its 21st appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Moravian hosted and won the NCAA Division III Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Regional at Blue & Grey Field this past week, and the Hounds are set to host No. 24 Randolph-Macon (Va.) College in the program's fourth overall and first home NCAA Division III Super Regional on May 22-23. Moravian won its third straight and 12th overall Landmark Conference title this year and the program's 20th conference title since 2000. The Landmark Conference had a total of 12 All-Region V honorees.
DeStefano, who was on the 2023 NFCA All-Region V Second Team, was named the 2025 Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year to go with a spot on the All-Conference First Team. DeStefano, who was the 2023 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and Landmark All-Conference Second Team, is 22-2 in the circle this season to go with a save, 135 strikeouts, just 36 walks and a 1.02 ERA in 158.1 innings to go along with a .397 average, 29 hits, 11 runs, six doubles, two triples and 20 RBIs at the plate. DeStefano, who was honored as the 2025 NCAA Division III Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Regional Most Outstanding Player and the 2023 NCAA Division III Medford, Massachusetts Regional MOP, has posted a 40-7 mark in the circle in her career to go with one save, 39 complete games, 234 strikeouts and a 1.57 ERA in 311.2 innings of action, and she also had 107 hits, 41 runs, ten doubles, four triples and 55 RBIs in three seasons.
Silberman, who was named to the 2024 NFCA All-Region V First Team and 2023 All-Region V Second Team, has a .396 batting average this spring to go with 57 hits, 23 runs, six doubles, a school and Landmark Conference record tying 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and a school record tying 111 total bases. Silberman, who was honored on the 2025, 2024 and 2023 Landmark All-Conference First Team as well as being a 2024 NFCA Second Team All-American, has a .365 average with 145 hits, 72 runs, 29 doubles, a triple, a school and Landmark Conference record 38 homers, 134 RBIs and 19 runners caught stealing from behind the plate including seven this spring.
Elmore, who was selected to the 2025 and 2024 Landmark All-Conference First Team and the 2023 Second Team, is hitting .359 this year with 51 hits, 36 runs, 12 doubles, four triples, a homer, 16 stolen bases and 31 RBIs. Elmore, who repeated on the NFCA All-Region V Second Team, has recorded a .333 career average with 168 hits, 116 runs, 29 doubles, eight triples, 11 home runs and 107 RBIs in a school record 181 games played, and she added 270 putouts and 338 assists in the field while being part of 24 double plays.
Snyder, who made the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Landmark All-Conference First Team as well as the 2024 NFCA All-Region V Third Team, has registered a .371 average this season with 46 hits, 38 runs, 12 doubles, a triple, one homer, 21 stolen bases and 29 RBIs. In four years, Snyder has a .343 batting average with 133 hits, 112 runs, 27 doubles, five triples, eight home runs, 53 stolen bases and 81 RBIs.
Walter, who was named the 2025 Landmark Conference Player of the Year and has made the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2023 and 2025, earned All-Region accolades for the first time in her career. This season, Walter is hitting .364 with 55 hits, 43 runs, eight doubles, five triples, 23 RBIs, 13 walks and 20 stolen bases to give her a school record 57 stolen bases in her career. She has added 51 putouts and a school record 127 assists in the field to break the school career mark with 359 assists. In her four seasons, Walter has a .340 average in 167 career games with 181 hits, 138 runs, 25 doubles, a school record 17 triples, seven home runs and 73 RBIs.
Holtje has seen action as a pitcher, designated player and right fielder for Moravian this season, and she earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team as a designated player. Holtje has a .301 average this spring with 34 hits, 26 runs, six doubles, four homers and 37 RBIs at the plate while going 12-2 in the circle with a 1.94 ERA, three shutouts and 40 strikeouts in 79.1 innings of action. In two seasons, Holtje has recorded 36 hits, 29 runs, six doubles, four homers and 36 RBIs to go with a 12-2 record, a 2.00 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 87.2 innings of work.
